Alison Doody

Alison Doody is an Irish actor and model. Born on 11th November, 1966. She made her film debut as a Bond actress in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she appeared in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. Doody portrayed Nazi sympathetic archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Other roles include Siobhan Donavan on the film A Prayer for the Dying (1987) Charlotte in Taffin (1988) and Rebecca Flannery in Major League II (1994). Doody began modeling when she was approached. It turned out to be a lucrative career. Doody tried to stay clear of glamorous and sexy roles, that was a rule she incorporated into her acting. She accepted a small part as Jenny Flex for 1985's A View to a Kill after she was noticed by the casting director. Doody's name was included as a part of John Willis Screen World Vol. 12 which features the most promising actors of 1986. 38. At just 18 when she appeared in the film, Doody was - and remains - the youngest Bond girl to date. A Prayer for the Dying which starred Mickey Rourke also had a performance by Doody, playing IRA Siobhan. Doody was seen as Archibald Craven in his dreams in the 1987 television adaptation from The Secret Garden. She also played Lilias. The Storyteller episode from 1988 featured her in the lead part in Sapsorrow as well as John Hurt Dawn French Jennifer Saunders. The year 1988 was the first time she appeared with Pierce Brosnan on the movie Taffin. Her most notable performance to date was her role as Austrian Nazi sympathiser as well as archaeologist Dr. Elsa Schneider opposite Harrison Ford in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. In the film, she also appeared alongside Sean Connery as Indy's father Doody was a part of three actors in the role of James Bond. In the year 1991, Doody was co-starring with Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publication fraud, also known as the Hitler Diaries. Doody later moved to Hollywood. The decision was made to replace Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokesperson and then went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his girlfriend and agent in Major League II. After almost a decade away from the screen Doody returned to acting by playing a minor role in the 2003 British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine playing herself in an award ceremony scene. In 2004, Doody starred alongside Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), a pamphlet describing the Holocaust. Doody was part of Danny Dyer's The Rapture (2009). Later, she guest-starred in RTE's the medical drama The Clinic. She was also set to play the lead role in an adaptation in 2011 of the classic horror film The Asphyx. However, this project fell through. Her first two seasons on Beaver Falls, the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. The show also featured her in We Still Kill the Old Way (2014). The 21st of November, 2018, she received the Almeria the tierra de cine prize as well as an award in the Almeria Walk of Fame.
